JTM WELCOME.

from Australian Pipeline & Gas Association

On behalf of the Board of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association and the members of the Association’s Research and Standards Committee, it is my privilege to welcome you to the 25th Biennial Joint Technical Meeting (JTM) in Sydney from 2 - 6 May 2027, held in collaboration with our colleagues from the European Pipeline Research Group and the Pipeline Research Council International.

We are very proud and honoured to host the fourth Joint Technical Meeting to be held in the southern hemisphere, and we thank all of our friends and associates who will be travelling “Down Under” to join us. We hope that you will enjoy our hospitality and participate fully in all aspects of the JTM.

We also encourage you to take advantage of your visit to explore more of Australia’s world-class beaches, rainforests, and unique flora and fauna, all within a short distance of Sydney.

Call for Abstracts

The JTM provides an exclusive forum for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the global pipeline industry, via the tripartite agreement between the APGA, the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) and the European Pipeline Research Group (EPRG). The event is an exciting opportunity to gain the latest insights into the innovative research supporting the safety, efficiency and sustainability of pipeline infrastructure, as our industry responds to the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition and the need to maintain energy security.

The submission of abstracts will be coordinated separately by APGA, PRCI and EPRG, in accordance with each organisation’s internal processes. Abstracts should focus on technical presentations relating to research and innovative practices across the lifecycle of pipeline systems, including (but not limited to):

  • Pipeline integrity, inspection and corrosion
  • Materials, welding and construction
  • Operations, maintenance and emissions management
  • Geohazards
  • External interference
  • Future fuels and emerging fluids
  • Safety, regulation, standards and social license
  • Data, Digital, AI
  • Workforce Development
  • Subsea

Closing date

Abstracts are required to be submitted by Monday 30 November 2026, for review by the technincal committee prior to request for full papers. Full instructions regarding the submission process will be provided by each organisation.
